Could Alison Beele be a jinx? Ever since she arrived at Aunt Caroline’s estate, things have been going wrong. First, Caroline’s sweet, prize-winning Yorkshire terrier, Stoney, disappeared. Then Mike Bersault, Caroline’s brother-in-law, was beaten up. And now, the absolute worst: Dingo Villers, a kennel worker, has been found murdered.

Is it all mere coincidence? Bad luck? The police seem to think so. But Ali fears that someone may have it in for her beloved aunt, and she is determined to put the pieces together on her own. Luckily, she has help. Handsome Ted Villers, Stoney’s trainer and Dingo’s cousin, is just as eager to find out what is really going on at Windsong.
