She’s on the run. He’s off the grid. A killer storm unites them in a breathtaking short story about survival and redemption by Ivy Pochoda, the award-winning author of Sing Her Down.

For med-tech worker and amateur hacker Andie, uncovering a conspiracy is above her pay grade. So is risking her life to expose it. Barreling into a brutal nor’easter to escape the goons on her tail, she finds unexpected refuge with a stranger named Hank in his remote Vermont farmhouse. A former antiwar radical, he’s spent the last sixty years looking over his shoulder. He sees a kindred spirit in Andie—righteous, paranoid, and running on empty. As the storm bears down and the hunters close in, Andie and Hank realize that the time has come for both of them to make desperate choices—no matter the cost.
