After the War Between the States, the Pecos Kid, originally a Texan, earned himself a reputation from Montana to the Rio Grande as a man who fought for a good cause. It’s because of that reputation that Jawn Ridley, the head of a cattle and mining empire in the Montana Territory, sends for him—though the Kid has no plans to respond. But as the Kid and his saddle mates head toward Idaho Territory, they are taken prisoner by Ridley’s foreman.
